Fortuna and Del Norte represented the H-DNL at the weekend North Coast Section Redwood Empire Division-II Dual Team Championships at Rancho Cotate High School.

The Warriors were seeded No. 2 and placed second, losing only to No. 1 seed Ukiah in the championship by a score of 50-27.

Del Norte defeated Elsie Allen 72-12 in the opening round, and followed that with a 54-18 win over No. 3 Casa Grande in the semis.

Fortuna was seeded No. 4 and also lost to Ukiah, 57-24 in the semifinal round.

Earlier in the day the Huskies got the better of No. 5 Petaluma.

After losing to Ukiah, the Huskies competed in the consolation bracket, getting the better of Elsie Allen 39-30 before losing to Lower Lake in the consolation championship.

Both schools will be favored for this Saturday’s H-DNL championships, which will take place at Arcata High.
