By Ray Hamill — The College of the Redwoods men’s basketball team can move two games clear at the top of the Golden Valley Conference with a win at Siskiyous on Thursday evening after a couple of upsets in conference play on Wednesday.
Butte beat Shasta 76-70 to leave both of those teams at 4-3 in the standings and tied for second behind CR (5-1), while Lassen edged out Feather River 86-84.
The Corsairs also play at Butte on Saturday before returning home for their final two games next week.
Thursday’s game will also be streamed live via the Siskiyous men’s Facebook page, as will the CR women’s game at the Siskiyous women’s Facebook page.
The men tip off at 5 p.m. and the women at 7 p.m.
The CR women (5-1) now trail Butte (6-1) by half a game after the Roadrunners defeated Shasta on Wednesday.
If the Corsairs win at Siskiyous on Thursday, both CR and Butte will be three games clear of the chasing pack and will meet in what could very well be a championship decider at Butte on Saturday.
