The Del Norte girls returned to winning ways with an emphatic performance on Thursday night, winning 69-58 at Arcata in girls basketball.
After dropping two straight league games to open the Big 5, the Warriors played as if their league lives depended on it and came out of the starting gates on fire, outscoring the home team 29-13 in the opening quarter.
Junior guard Jadence Clifton was instrumental in the win, scoring a game-high 35 points, to go with 14 rebounds, five assists, four steals and a blocked shot.
Clifton has been sensational all season for the Warriors, who are now 1-2 in the Big 4 and 10-7 overall.
Against the Tigers, however, she got plenty of help from her teammates, many of whom stepped up.
In-form freshman Gianna Taylor finished with nine points, while Olivia Stilwell and Kirsten Brous each had seven points.
Stilwell also pulled down six rebounds and had a steal.
Rounding out a solid team performance, Ashley Lenover finished with five points and Selene Ledezma had five rebounds.
For the Tigers, who dropped to 1-2 in the Big 5 and 9-9 overall, a couple of younger players stepped up.
Sophomore Grace Talty finished with a team-high 13 points, while freshman Olivia Railsback finished with 12 points, hitting four 3-pointers.
Senior Jocelyn Bliven also had 12 points in the loss, while Zoie Andre finished with six points.
Next up on Tuesday, the Tigers travel to Fortuna, while the Warriors host McKinleyville.
