Logger Classic tips off on Thursday

By Ray Hamill — The Eureka boys basketball team will host its annual Logger Classic this week, with the action getting under way on Thursday.

This year five local teams will feature among the eight-team field, with Hoopa, Fortuna, McKinleyville and St. Bernard’s all joining the host school.

Hoopa and Fortuna get the action started on Thursday afternoon at 4:30 p.m., with McKinleyville playing Shasta at 6, Eureka playing Brookings at 7:30 and St. Bernard’s closing out the opening day against Sutter at 9 p.m.

The tournament runs through Saturday, with the championship game scheduled for 2:30 p.m. on the final day.
