Alex Harding nailed a buzzer-beating 3-pointer on Friday night, as the South Fork boys defeated Athenian 66-65 to advance to the championship game at the California School for the Deaf tournament.

The win sets up a showdown against the host school on Saturday night at 6 p.m.

The Cubs also advanced to Saturday’s championship game in the girls tournament, where they will play league rivals Ferndale at 7:30 p.m.

The Cubs, who are 6-4, defeated the California School for the Deaf 47-33 in their semifinal on Friday night, while Ferndale (3-1) got the better of Castlemont in the other semifinal, also by a score of 47-33.
