By Ray Hamill — Arcata’s Garrett Hall gave his team a boost at the defensive end on Saturday afternoon in the championship game of the McKinleyville boys basketball tournament.

Hall, who is enjoying a solid start to the new season, denied Lincoln’s Jeremyah Aquino on a breakaway with a big-time block.

Lincoln would go on to win 63-45, handing the Tigers their first loss of the season.
