By Ray Hamill — One week ago tonight the Fortuna Huskies won a dramatic NCS championship game in boys soccer, their third section title in four years.

It was a thriller of a showdown against International at Fortuna High, with the two teams playing out an exhilarating 80 minutes of regulation without a single goal between them, despite numerous chances, especially from the Huskies.

Two periods of overtime did nothing to separate the two teams, nor five attempts each in a penalty shootout.

After seven attempts each, however, we finally had a champion, with the Huskies sneaking a 3-2 shootout win.

It was nothing less than they deserved after hitting the goal posts numerous times during the game, particularly late in overtime.
