By Ray Hamill — A number of friends, teammates and coaches paid tribute to Merek Sears on his big day, as he signed a letter of intent to play baseball at Washington State on Monday.

Sears was praised not just for the talents he has brought to Arcata High, but also for the leadership he has provided, and his “insane competitive spirit,” as one coach remembered.

Check out the video footage of the letter signing, as coaches Troy Ghisetti and Graham Johnson, teammate Alex Gorge, and parents Becky and Dave all pay tribute to the outstanding senior.
