By Ray Hamill — Six of nine local teams will be involved in this weekend’s North Coast Section football playoffs, with three of their games scheduled to be broadcast live on the radio for fans unable to make the trip.

Tag Wotherspoon and Dave Filippini will call the action from both the Fortuna and St. Bernard’s games on MIX 95.1 FM, with John Pritchett and John Horner bringing us the Del Norte game on KPOD 97.9 FM.

Fortuna is seeded No. 8 in Division 5 and will open on the road at No. 1 Encinal on Friday night at 7 p.m., with the pregame show getting under at 6:40 p.m.

No. 2 Del Norte also plays in Division 5 on Friday night, hosting No. 7 Alhambra, also at 7 p.m.

On Saturday afternoon, No. 2 St. Bernard’s will host No. 7 Ygnacio Valley in Division-6 action, with kickoff set for 1 p.m. and the pregame show starting at 12:40 p.m.
