The College of the Redwoods women closed out the volleyball season with a bang on Thursday afternoon, defeating Lassen 25-19, 25-23, 25-9 for their second win in the Golden Valley Conference.
The team’s three sophomores — Ashlynn Maddeoux, Alondra Ledezma and Arriana Gallegos — were each playing their final game for the Corsairs and each was instrumental in the win.
“It was definitely a great game out of the sophomores, and everyone across the board,” CR head coach Petra Lorenzi said.
Lefezma led the team with eight kills, while Maddeoux and Sarah Malone each had six kills.
Gallegos had a big day setting and finished with four aces, while Paula Mello, Lexi Goodman and Kaylin Campbell each had three aces.
“Overall, I’m really proud of our sophomores,” Lorenzi said. “I couldn’t have asked for much more, and we really ended with a bang.”
With the win, the Corsairs close out 2-8 in conference play and 4-18 overall.
