VIDEO — All five TDs from Saturday’s big showdown at Crusader Field

By Ray Hamill — Windy conditions played a role at Crusader Field on Saturday afternoon, as St. Bernard’s got the better of Eureka 21-13 in Big 4 action.

All five touchdowns came on the ground, three by St. Bernard’s and two from the Loggers.

SB quarterback Will Omey opened the scoring when he ran in from five yards out for the first of his two touchdowns, before Eureka’s Hayden Bode broke free for a 52-yard TD midway through the second quarter to leave the teams all square at halftime.

Omey found the end zone a second time on the Crusader’s opening possession of the second half, before Lane Thrap stretched the lead to 14 on a four-yard TD run late in the third quarter.

Keeb Her closed out the scoring to pull Eureka back within eight in the final minute of the game, before Bode Joyner recovered the ensuing onside kick to seal the win for the home team.
