VIDEO — Robinson, Tigers look to bounce back

By Ray Hamill — When Arcata quarterback Mathew Robinson hits his target, it’s often a thing of beauty, and I’m not sure any QB on the North Coast throws the ball better.

Robinson and the Tigers just need to be more consistent.

They’ll try to get back on track this weekend when they host McKinleyville at the Redwood Bowl after losing at Ferndale a week ago and all but seeing their league ambitions fade.

There were some big highlights for the Tigers in the loss, however, including a couple of great throws from Robinson to his receivers.

On one play late in the first half, the senior QB connected with Alberto Iskra, who broke a couple of tackles after the catch and stretched it into an 86-yard gain.

Niko Zambas, who was just back from injury, also had a wonderful catch, while Everett Halikas scored his team’s only TD of the day on a determined run to the end zone.

The Tigers are 2-2 in league play and 4-4 overall, while Mack is 0-4 and 1-7.

Friday night’s game at the Redwood Bowl is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
