Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – Hoopa’s Larry Tracy (4) and his teammates

By Ray Hamill — With just over six minutes remaining in the game and only one score separating the two teams, Hoopa’s Larry Tracy broke through the line of scrimmage and used his speed to out-pace the McKinleyville defense on a 93-yard TD run.

The Warriors would go on to win 32-21.

Tracy’s big score, however, almost never happened, but for quarterback John Smith’s quick reaction.

Smith had to gather a low snap before the handoff, and then the Hoopa offensive line opened just enough of a hole for Tracy to break free.

And after that, it all came down to the junior’s speed, as he broke free for the game-deciding score.
