Former St. Bernard’s goalkeeper Maddie Costa enjoyed her return to the North Coast this week, as Lake Tahoe defeated College of the Redwoods 4-0 in women’s soccer on Tuesday.
Costa has had an immediate impact in her freshman campaign with the Coyotes, who are the No. 1 ranked D-III community college team in the nation.
The former Crusader has been splitting time between the posts with fellow freshman Maddie Smith, a D-I prospect.
The two combined to shut out the Corsairs on Tuesday, playing a half each and giving local fans a chance to see Costa in action.
The Coyotes outshot the Corsairs 21-0, scoring twice in each half.
With the win, Lake Tahoe improves to 10-0-2 on the season, while the CR women are now 4-3-2.
The Corsairs play at Siskiyous on Friday.
