Ray Hamill/HumboldtSports.com – Arcata head coach Jamal Jones and his players look on during last weekend’s game at St. Bernard’s.
By Ray Hamill — It wasn’t a moment that ultimately decided the outcome, but it did keep the Arcata Tigers in the game early against St. Bernard’s last week.
Just when his team needed a moment of inspiration, Arcata DB Alberto Iskra came up with a huge interception that he returned to the St. Bernard’s 10-yard line.
Four plays later, Arcata QB Mathew Robinson threw a 10-yard TD pass to Raven Perez to pull his team back in the game.
At least one player, however, didn’t agree with the call.
From the video footage of the play, SB receiver Lane Thrap clearly believes he had been a victim of pass interference.
Was the senior receiver knocked to the ground, or did he stumble? You be the judge.
St. Bernard’s went on to win the game comfortably 49-8.
Both teams will be in action again this weekend, with St. Bernard’s playing La Salle in Oregon and Arcata hosting Willits at the Redwood Bowl on Saturday afternoon.
