Pick 4 the last 4 races — Leg 1, No. 1/No. 2; Leg 2, No. 4/No. 5; Leg 3, No. 1; Leg 4, No. 1.

$1 pick 4 = $4

We hit 4 of 7 with a scratch on Saturday and didn’t have any picks Sunday. Friday’s races are kind of light, so we’re pretty much going with  betting straight win bets. Weekend races should bring some prices.

Friday’s Picks

Race 1 — I’ll go with No. 5 Gem’s Chip right back in the Mule race if I can get anything close to 2-1 with the top mule trainer.

Race 2 — This race is for Arabians Maidens and it is not much of a race. I’ll take No. 3 Not Dew Yet with an outing over the track and four straight second place finishes.

Race 3 — This is a nice seven Furlong race with No. 2 General Ike entered after a great race Saturday. The problem is winning machine No. 1 Sir Vronsky shipped up and is entered. Ike is a good horse but not really in Vronsky’s league. Have to take the short price on No. 2 or play an Ice Cold straight exacta No. 1 over No. 2.

Race 4 — No. 5 Chill is the horse to beat but I’ll take No. 4 Union Wine to his inside with the race over the strip.

Race 5 — No. 1 Red Glitter had problems Saturday at 4-1 so should get a good price right back today, gets a positive jockey switch but needs a decent break. No. 1 to win at pretty good odds.

Race 6 — No. 1 Winning Sound should also be decent odds and is my best bet of the day. Lesser competition and an upgraded jockey could lead to a decent break from rail and he could be gone.
