One McKinleyville Little League all-star team is moving on to the state tournament, and another is closing in on joining them.
On Monday evening, the Mack 11-year-olds defeated Chico 13-3 in Anderson to cap a big weekend and advance to their state tournament.
The 9-10 all-stars, meanwhile, are now just one win away from also advancing after securing a hard-fought 4-3 win over Sutter Butte at Hiller Park, also on Monday.

The win was the second in two days for the host team, which rolled over Susanville 23-0 on Sunday afternoon.
Earlier on Monday, Red Bluff defeated Susanville 19-7 in an elimination game.

Three generations of Pelascinis umpired the all-star game at Hiller Park on Monday night, John, Tyler and Kevin.
Red Bluff will now play Sutter Butte at Hiller Park on Tuesday evening in another elimination game, with the winner playing McKinleyville on Wednesday night at 6 p.m.
Mack’s opponents will have to beat them twice to deny them the Section 2 championship.
