Kinsey, Proctor headline busy day for Humboldt Outlaw Karts

Racing returned to the Redwood Acres on Saturday with the second Humboldt Outlaw Karts event of the summer and all six divisions in action.

In the Champagne Attorney Service beginner box stocks main event, Aaliyah Mitchell battled heat race winner Danica Kinsey all the way, before the latter pulled away late for the win.

Destiny Lewis was third, followed by Cooper Willor and Raylan Ross.

The Williamson Financial Group box stocks featured a strong field of 12, with Dylan Combest taking the first heat race and Janice Walters the second. 

There were several incidents in the 20-lap main event, with Austin Bartholomew, Grant Williamson, Timmy Walters and Josiah Lewis all forced to retire just two laps into the race.

After a wild back and forth affair in the first race of the season, Combest and Grant Proctor were at it again on Saturday, with Proctor prevailing for a second time.

Chayce Smith recovered from the opening lap chaos to finish third, with Janice Walters fourth and Corbin Green fifth.

There was also plenty of action in the Fortuna Wheel & Brake fart karts, with Amanda Harpe taking the heat race.

Nick Ford won the main event, with Scott Proctor in second and Harpe third.

Leonard Ward continued to set the pace in the Miclette Family Racing pure stocks, winning the heat race and the main event. 

Pete Miclette was second, followed by Michael Lawrence, Jordan Miclette and David Alves.

In the the Wes Green Landscaping 250cc division, MKinzy Uselton won a wild heat race, before Dryver Dothage won the 20-lap main event.

Landen Green placed second, followed by Maleesa Miles, Uselton and Lily Williamson.

Tony Miles had a big day in the Nor Cal Automotive 500cc class, taking both the heat race and the main event. 

Colby Bergquist was second.

Race three of the 2019 season for the Humboldt Outlaw Karts will be the biggest of the year and will take place on the final day of the Redwood Acres Fair on June 23.
