HSU men’s rugby claims big win in season opener

Submitted photo – The HSU men’s rugby team celebrates its season opening victory over the University of the Pacific on Saturday.

The Humboldt State men’s rugby team kicked off its 45th season in style on Saturday, defeating visiting University of the Pacific 38-0 at the Redwood Bowl.

The Jacks came into the new campaign with high hopes for this year’s squad, and they lived up to expectations in the opener with a dominating victory.

The Jacks will host a second straight game this coming Saturday, this time at College Creek Field against Cal State Monterey Bay.

Game time is set for 1 p.m.
