By Ray Hamill – Another busy weekend in prep basketball gave us plenty of options for this week’s Humboldt Sports athletes and team of the week.
In boys basketball, Isaac Puzz has been a dominant force for the McKinleyville Panthers all season and continued to be at the Enterprise tournament, helping his team to a fourth-place finish and earning athlete of the week honors in the process.
In girls basketball, the St. Bernard’s Crusaders continued their impressive start to the season with a tournament championship at Fort Bragg, earning them team of the week honors.
The Crusaders were led by senior Jasa Sisemore, who has transitioned seamlessly from the soccer field to the basketball court and was in top form again over the weekend, earning her athlete of the week honors.
