By Ray Hamill — Three College of the Redwoods teams will close out their seasons this week, with all three playing at home in the coming days.

First up, the CR volleyball team will host Lassen on Wednesday evening in their home finale and will honor their four sophomores — Elise Wilson, Mikenzie Palotas, Olivia Wilma and Rhea McCoy — before the game.

The game is a key one for the CR women, who are currently in last place in the Golden Valley Conference, one win behind Lassen.

The two programs played a close five-set match at last month, and this is a very winnable game for CR.

The Corsairs (4-15 overall and 1-7 in the GVC) close out at the season with a tough matchup at Butte on Friday.

Also in action this week, both CR soccer teams will close out their campaigns at home to Siskiyous on Friday.

The CR men get things under way at 11 a.m., and will be hoping to go out with their first win of the year.

The Corsairs lost 3-0 at Lassen on Tuesday to drop to 0-13-3 on the season, although they will also feel this is a very winnable game for them.

Siskiyous is 3-12-1 on the season and sits just one spot above CR in the conference standings.

The Eagles are coming off a 2-2 tie with Lassen on Tuesday, and barely edged CR 1-0 a few weeks back.

The CR men will honor their five sophomores — Naive Arana, Lucas Terpreau, Sergio Arreola, Carlos Torres and Ricardo Aldama — before kickoff.

The CR women, meanwhile, are 4-9-2 on the season and 2-7-2 in conference and are coming off a 1-1 tie with Lassen on Tuesday.

Siskiyous comes into Friday’s finale at 6-8-4 and 3-5-3, after tying Shasta 3-3 on Tuesday.

CR will honor sophomores Jennifer Murillo-Ceja, Parker Olsen, Ivon Castaneda, Avery Baker, Diana Meraz and Noelia Alatorre before kickoff.
