The College of the Redwoods women capped a busy three days on the volleyball court with a hard-fought five-sets victory over Canada (25-19, 15-25, 20-25, 25-23, 15-13) at home on Saturday.

The win was the third of the year for the young Corsairs, who played three games in three days this week.

On Thursday, the CR women fell in straight sets at conference leaders Feather River, and they followed that a day later with a five-sets loss at Lassen.

“It was a good battle,” CR head coach Petra Lorenzi said of the Lassen game. “They just took it in the end.”

CR is now 3-11 on the season and 0-3 in the Golden Valley Conference.

In Saturday’s win, Alondra Ledezma and Ariana Gallegos each finished with 10 kills, while Elise Wilson continued to set the tone with 19 digs.
