Arcata’s Karina Zumbrun and Marcus Finney of College of the Redwoods both had big weeks for their respective teams, as they continue to lead the way.
And that gets them the nod for this week’s HumboldtSports.com Athletes of the week.
In soccer, the Eureka girls continued to roll with two more impressive wins to earn them Team of the Week honors.
ATHLETES OF THE WEEK
Arcata Soccer, Senior
Zumbrun has been leading the way in the heart of midfield all season for the Tigers, both scoring and creating.
This past week, Zumbrun netted a pair of hat tricks in wins over Del Norte (7-0) and McKinleyville (7-1), giving her a league-leading 19 goals this season.

Redwoods Football, Freshman
Since a breakout performance in week two, the former Eureka High standout has been leading the way on a talented group of CR receivers.
At De Anza on Saturday, Finney had a team-high seven catches for 103 yards, as well as a couple of impressive kick returns.
For the season, Finney has six TDs in four games (second best in conference) to go with 421 yards.
