The South Fork Cubs improved to 3-0 in football on Saturday afternoon, running out to a comfortable 52-8 win against Round Valley in Covelo.
Senior quarterback C. J. Van Meter ran for two touchdowns and passed for two more, as the high-scoring Cubs took their league opener.
South Fork has now outscored its three opponents this year by a combined 128-34.
Cody Wyatt was instrumental in Saturday’s win, with 193 yards total offense, including 117 in receptions and a touchdown.
Van Meter added 60 yards rushing, including his two TDs, as well as completing 9-of-21 passes for 171 yards, and another two scores.
Sean Hassall-Hoss also had a big game in the win, scoring a pair of touchdowns, including one on the defensive side of the ball after forcing a fumble, recovering it, and returning it 35 yards to the end zone.
Hassall-Hoss also had a 20-yard TD reception.
Christian Carlson added two more rushing TDs for the unbeaten Cubs, carrying the ball 12 times for 44 yards.
The defending North Central League-III champions will host Branson (1-0) on Friday night in Miranda.
Round Valley dropped to 0-2 on the season and 0-2 in league play.
