Eagles 19Us close out on a winning note

The Humboldt Eagles 19Us closed out their area tournament with a 5-4 win over the Redding Vipers in Fairfield on Sunday.

The Eagles scored all five of their runs in the bottom of the fourth inning and held on despite a late Vipers rally with four runs over the final two innings.

Daniel Minton pitched 6.2 innings for the win, while Parker Rodgers led the way the plate.

Minton allowed eight hits and one walk, while striking out two.

Rodgers finished 2-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, while teammates Richard Reeves and Keenan Morris each had a double.

Hunter Davis, Aidan Dorsch, Connor Johnson and Matteo Gutierrez each also had a hit in the win, while Xander Sorensen pitched the final out to secure the victory.
