The Fortuna Huskies bounced back from Tuesday’s loss at Hoopa with a comfortable 15-1 win over a young St. Bernard’s team in H-DNL softball on Wednesday.

Kylee Fennell got the win in the circle with a strong performance, allowing just four hits and no walks, while striking out seven.

At the plate, the ever-dangerous Renee Metz finished 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBIs, while Catherine Duncan was 2-for-2 with a double.

With the win, the Huskies improved to 4-4.

For St. Bernard’s, Marcie Davila was 1-for-2 with a double, while Courtney Goodman drove in the team’s only run.

Hanna Finck and Teresa Riley each also had a base hit, while Ella Jimenez pitched well through the opening three innings before team errors let the Crusaders down.

Next up, St. Bernard’s is scheduled to play a doubleheader at South Fork on Saturday, while Fortuna plays at Eureka next Wednesday.
