Eureka continues to roll, sweeps two more from Mack

The Eureka Loggers improved to 3-0 in baseball with a doubleheader sweep of McKinleyville at Bomber Field on Friday evening.

The Loggers took game one 7-0 and won the nightcap 10-4.

Eureka’s Jackson Giacone had a big game in the opener, finishing 3-for-3, while teammate Parker Rodgers was 2-for-4 with a two-run home run in the fifth.

Keenan Morris and Brayden Youkey each also had a base hit in the win, while Ethan Pesch got the win on the mound.

For a young McKinleyville team, which dropped to 0-3 on the season, Corbin Eichin was 2-for-3, while Riley Bates and Logan Maher each also had a hit.

Conner Johnson led the way at the plate for the Loggers in game two, finishing 4-for-4, as the home team completed a three-game sweep of the Panthers this week.

Teammate Richard Reeves also was influential in the victory, finishing 3-for-3, while Giacone capped a good day with another hit, an RBI and two runs.

Pesch also was 1-for-4 with two RBIs and a run, while Hayden Bode got the win on the mound.

Eichin had another good game for McKinleyville, finishing with two more hits, as did teammate Brodie Sargent.

Stumpf and Austin Brown each also had a hit in the loss.
