The Arcata Tigers got the H-DNL girls tennis season off to a successful start on Saturday, defeating Del Norte 5-0 in Crescent City.

The dominating Tigers dropped just one game in five singles matches.

At No. 1 singles, Keona Gutierrez got the better of Adenne Schaad, 6-0, 6-0, while teammate Aimee Reiner defeated Josephine Heuberger, 6-0, 6-0, at No. 2.

Kyra Always, Melanie Luh and Judah White each also won for the Tigers in straight sets, defeating Molly Slayton, Aliana Saple and Rylee Ortega to complete the sweep.

The 1-0 Tigers will play North Coast Prep on Tuesday afternoon at 3 p.m.

Next up for Del Norte is a trip to Ferndale, also on Tuesday.
