By Ray Hamill — Former Eureka Logger Bobbie Purify has found a new home for herself at William Jessup University and has been an immediate contributor for the Warriors this season.

Purify, a 2016 Eureka graduate, is with her fourth college program in five years, but the senior has started all six games so far for William Jessup.

The Rocklin-based NAIA program is 1-5 after dropping a nail-biter at College of Idaho on Saturday by a score of 58-56.

Purify chipped in six points, two steals and two rebounds in the loss and is averaging 5.2 points through the early season, which has seen the Warriors play a limited number of games.

The senior guard turned in a four-assist, four-steal performance in the Warriors’ opener against Bethesda a few weeks back and is shooting almost 50 percent (.458) from the floor for the season.

Purify, a two-time All-Big 5 selection during her playing days at Eureka, has spent time at Oregon Tech, College of the Redwoods and Notre Dame de Namur.

She played two strong years at CR under head coach Jain Tuey and assistant Darren Turpin, a time which she described as “hugely influential for her in helping prepare her for the next level.”

Last winter she played at Notre Dame de Namur, but after just one season there the Argonauts were forced to drop all their sports programs for budgetary reasons.

William Jessup is a private Christian university in Rocklin.
